Privacy
Magpie has no server side, so this stays short:
- Your journal lives only on your device, encrypted with your passphrase. Locked means unreadable, to you, to this app, to anyone.
- Nothing is uploaded, ever. The page opens no connections except to load its own files, and the Android app has no internet permission at all.
- No accounts, no analytics, no cookies. The browser keeps two preferences: your language and your auto-lock timeout.
- Exports go exactly where you send them and nowhere else. When you share a file into the installed web app, the browser parks it briefly in local storage for hand-off; Magpie deletes it on pickup and on every start.
- There is no passphrase recovery, because recovery would mean someone else holding a way in.
